We know dental anxiety is real. Many of our patients in West New York and Hudson County feel nervous before appointments—even routine cleanings. That's why we offer nitrous oxide sedation, often called "laughing gas."

Nitrous oxide is a safe, proven way to help you feel calm and comfortable during treatment. You'll breathe a blend of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a small mask that rests over your nose. Within minutes, you'll feel relaxed and at ease, but you'll remain awake and able to respond to us.

How It Works

Nitrous oxide works quickly. Once you begin breathing the gas, you'll notice a light, floating sensation. Any nervousness melts away, and time seems to pass more quickly. We can adjust the level throughout your appointment to keep you comfortable.

When your treatment is done, we'll switch you to pure oxygen for a few minutes. The effects wear off almost immediately—so quickly that you can drive yourself home and return to your normal day.
